Cardiovascular disease Prevention is a specialty practice designed to help you lower your risk of heart attack and stroke. We offer preventative care in a non-traditional setting, focusing on early detection of atherosclerotic plaque in asymptomatic individuals and management of heart attack and stroke risk in patients with known cardiovascular disease.
We utilize the Bale/Doneen Method which incorporates early detection, medical therapy and patient education.
Our mission is to detect and treat arterial disease, eliminating the risk of heart attack and stroke. Effective prevention for heart attack and stroke must include aggressive evidence-based medical therapy as well as patient education. True prevention involves patient empowerment.
I was born in Dallas, TX and attended Texas A&M University and The University of Texas Medical branch at Galveston. I completed my residency in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester MN and then cardiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland OH. These hospitals have ranked first and second with US News and World Report for many years. I also completed training in interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular intervention at Mid America Heart Institute, Kansas City, MO. I practiced for nine years at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, prior to moving to Lubbock.
I have longstanding ties to Lubbock. My wife Kara grew up here. We are blessed with three beautiful children, Blair, and twins, Kris and Jake. We are very fortunate to have grandparents Dr. Obie and Judy Stalcup of Lubbock. Dr. Stalcup has been practicing urology in Lubbock for many years.
